THE ETHICS COMMITTEE'S MISSION AND TASKS

The Ethics Committee of Széchenyi István University was established by the Code of Ethics adopted by the Governing Board. The objectives of the Code of Ethics are:

  1. to promote the common values of the European Higher Education Area and the principles of the Bologna Declaration, in particular the importance of cooperation in education;
  2. to facilitate the implementation of the legally and morally unquestionable operation of the University;
  3. to ensure respect for human dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms, the active protection of the natural environment;
  4. creating a good environment for professional work by strengthening and improving the quality of human relations;
  5. care and preserve the university's traditions and reputation.

Accordingly, the primary objective of the Ethics Committee is to use the means at its disposal to bring the Code of Ethics into line with university practice and to promote the resolution of conflicts.

The Ethics Committee's mission is to advise policies on diversity, equality, inclusion and Human Rights policies, programmes and training and monitor their implementation

The Chair and 8 members of the Ethics Committee are appointed by IT for a 5-year term. If the ethical procedure also affects a student, a member of the Ethics Committee is a student delegated by the current President of EHÖK.

  • A student member appointed by the Student Council (HÖK) (if the ethical procedure also affects a student)

The Secretary of the Ethics Committee is Hanna Horváth, Dr. Legal Officer of Directorate of Legal Affairs and Portfolio Management.
